What a magnificent moment for Canal Street and for the City of New Orleans!

This week, we were honored to stand alongside Mayor Helena Moreno as she announced a renewed commitment to the revitalization of our city’s most iconic commercial corridor. By bringing City departments, community partners and neighborhood stakeholders together around a clear and shared purpose, this executive order lays an important foundation for Canal Street to reach its greatest potential.

For the past two years, Celebrate Canal! has poured its heart into reimagining the endless possibilities for Canal Street. We have brought together citizens, business owners, civic leaders and community partners who believe, as we do, that Canal Street can once again be a vibrant historic, cultural and economic cornerstone of life in New Orleans.

The Mayor’s announcement is wonderful proof that when a community unites around a shared vision, meaningful momentum follows. That progress belongs to each of you. Your ideas, encouragement, participation and belief in this work have helped bring us to this important moment.

We are fully energized and eager to work hand in hand with Mayor Moreno, the City and all of our partners to secure a brilliant and thriving future for Canal Street.
