Dear Friend of DKT,
DKT launched 67 new products in 56 different countries in 2019. In our effort to increase access to high quality contraceptive choices, DKT expanded our regional programs in the Middle East, South and Central America, and West Africa. Some recent examples of these new products are the launch of our first IUDs in Bolivia, a medical abortion combination pack in DR Congo, and Sayana Press in Sierra Leone.
We are happy to share the results of our continued expansion efforts below, and to celebrate the dedication and resilience of the many workers in the field doing the hard work of DKT. Whether there is a hurricane in Mozambique or massive flooding in Indonesia, DKT staff continue their work to educate couples on the different methods available, where to find products, and how to plan for the future.
Thank you for your support,
Christopher Purdy

DKT's Marketing Team distributed Lactaboost, a lactation supplement, to flood victims who were currently breastfeeding. DKT donated 1,600 pieces to NGOs in command centers throughout the worst-hit areas of the country to alleviate some of the stress put on new mothers during this disaster.
In many places in Jakarta the flood waters were as high as five feet, and as surrounding rivers burst over their banks more than 300 people were rendered homeless. Many more people have been effected by the shutting down of the electrical grid and freezing of transport as the city's infrastructure struggles to keep up with the massive rains.

DKT now offeres Vasectomy services in the Philippines
|
|
DKT Philippines has been working to certify more non-scalpel vasectomy practitioners and boost adoption of this contraceptive method as a viable option for men across the country. Three surgeons were trained in January, and now use this method for their Vasectomy procedures.
DKT's outreach teams reached sites in Agusan, Surigao, and Laguna to hand out flyers and conduct lectures to create demand for family planning services. Additionally, there was transportation assistance to centers where procedures and other services were provided.

Expansion in the Middle East
|
|
DKT recently opened offices in Jordan and Sudan as cornerstones in our expansion plans for the Middle East region in 2020. DKT is laying the groundwork to increase access to contraception throughout the region.
Pictured on the right is a visit by the Sudanese Minister of Health to the DKT booth at the February OBGYN conference in Khartoum. In Sudan, the contraceptive prevalence of modern methods is less than 12%. DKT hopes to support the government's efforts in Sudan.
