The Shadows’ invites you to “A Merry-Making Season.” Throughout the month of December, the Shadows-on-the-Teche will be dressed for the holidays in greenery highlighted with fruits, nuts, and berries. Colorful decorations, antique toys, and a Christmas tree decorated with period ornaments will be featured in period rooms.
“A Merry-Making Season” quoted from the Weeks’ Family Papers, describes their observance of the holiday season. Seasonal tours, focusing on holiday celebrations in the nineteenth century, will be offered during The Shadows normal operating hours. Guided tours of the house will emphasize similarities and differences between the nineteenth century celebrations and the present.
The Shadows is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Guided tours begin 15 minutes past the hour, with the last tour leaving at 3:15 p.m.
Admission to the Shadows is $10.50 for adults ages 18-64, $8.50 for adults ages 65 and over, and $6.75 for children ages 6-11. Military and AAA discounts are available on the adult and student rates.
