Dear TBC Community:

Although Cantor Dunkerley's first official day is today (July 1st), we have been meeting regularly over the last month (via Zoom) to discuss, plan and help her learn about our wonderful community.  We are very excited about working with Cantor Dunkerley and our Board to build a bright future for TBC.

Here are a few things that are in the works.
  • During July and August, we will have small group "meet and greets" so everyone can have an opportunity to meet Cantor Dunkerley.
  • We are establishing two task forces:
    • One to help plan the High Holy Days. We do not yet know if they will be in person, virtual, or a combination of the two. We want your input, so expect a call from someone on the Board to discuss this with you.
    • re-opening task force to evaluate when it will be safe for us to re-open the building to meet, worship and learn in person; and what procedural changes and/or building modifications we may need to assure that we keep everyone safe and healthy.
  • Cantor Dunkerley will be working closely with the Education and Executive Committees to review programming for our Religious School for the 2020/2021 school year.  We are committed to finding engaging ways to enrich our students through Judaic Studies and Hebrew language.
  • The Communications Committee will be providing regular monthly updates on the work the EC, Board and Committees are engaged in to keep you better informed.
  • We will be exploring how we can better take advantage of technology to improve our worship and learning experiences - including improvements to our Wifi.
We have a very ambitious and exciting agenda. If you would like to help with any of these initiatives, please click here and let us know where your interest lies.

Shalom TBC!!!

I am so excited to have officially begun as your Cantor, Educator and Sr. Clergy ! As June and Cindy mentioned, I have already been working to familiarize myself with a variety of committees and meet as many of our leadership team as possible. The excitement generated by our discussions and exchange of ideas was palpable.

We are on the precipice right now of a time for innovation and growth. Opportunities abound in which to bring our community, in all its different contingencies, together as one loving TBC family. I look forward to settling in in the coming weeks and meeting many of you either virtually or via small, socially distanced gatherings.

We have much to do and celebrate together in the coming months and I am overjoyed to begin. I invite you all to dream big and share those dreams with me. Our community and its future are limited only by those boundaries we impose on ourselves. As Rabbi Tarfon teaches in Pirkei Avot (2:21), "It is not your responsibility to finish the work of perfecting the world, but neither are you free to desist from it." Here's to rolling up our sleeves together and diving in....

B'shirah v'Brachot (In song and blessings)!
