Dear Prevention,

With gratitude top of mind this week, I want to thank each and every one of you who has taken the time to read this newsletter, and to give a special thank you to those who have replied with your thoughts, enthusiasm, and ideas (keep em coming!).

It is exciting to have this space to connect with you about important issues facing our community and the impact of the work Prevention Links does.

In truth, when I started writing these...I wasn’t sure anyone would read them (lol). But I’ve been reassured by so many who tell me in passing at an event or meeting that they enjoy reading my weekly messages or who respond to something I’ve sent. 💜

Not only is it encouraging to know you are reading, but I am heartened that even when discussing challenging, sometimes polarizing issues, we can do so with grace, kindness, and a focus on solutions.

This type of dialogue is so important as we endeavor to ensure that every member of our community has access to the support they need to thrive. Let’s keep the conversation going.

As we look ahead to next week, I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone that Giving Tuesday is next week on 12/3.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we are sooo close to reaching our $55,000 fundraising goal for this year. We’ve raised $49,156 so far, but we need your help to close the gap by midnight on Giving Tuesday.

If you’ve already donated, THANK YOU for being a vital part of our mission. Your support helps provide essential resources like:

  • Food for individuals facing homelessness
  • Supplies for our Women’s Health Closet
  • Budgets for our holiday toy drive
  • And so much more!

If you haven’t had the chance to donate yet, I invite you to join us. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

Even just $10 creates a link of support between yourself and a person seeking help. Every person who donates between now and Giving Tuesday will get a personal thank you from me.

GIVE A GIFT TODAY 💜

Please remember that it's only together that we can ensure that every member of our community receives the support they need to thrive.

Wishing each of you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday! 🦃

Family Success Toy Drives

This year - we are in a tough position. Our beloved toy coordinator has retired from her volunteer role and we need to make sure we carry on this tradition in her stead. We're aiming to brighten the season for children and families who might otherwise go without at our Family Success Centers. It’s a reminder that even a small act of generosity can make a big difference, and we’re honored to help these families feel the joy of the season through your support.

Holiday Hope Kits

These kits, which include Narcan, hygiene essentials, and other basic needs items, offer lifesaving support and serve as a symbol of hope and care for those navigating difficult times. It’s our way of reminding the most vulnerable in our community that they are not alone, especially as temperatures drop and their needs increase. With your support, hundreds will be gifted a hope kit this holiday season.

Journey of Hope

Our Journey of Hope event on January 10th will be another opportunity for the recovery community to come together. This gathering celebrates the resilience of individuals in recovery and provides a space to connect, share stories, and uplift one another. Together, we’re creating an environment where people in recovery feel a profound sense of belonging and support—an environment that helps make the journey a little bit easier.
