Parent Resource Program by the Jason Foundation

Coaches can be a key resource providing educational opportunities about mental health and suicidal ideation for parents and student-athletes. The Parent Resource Program is a great tool that can assist coaches’ efforts in educating parents about the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide. Preparing parents to recognize changed behavior in their child and how to respond is key to saving lives. Also, a link may be placed on the school or athletic website for a continuing resource.

The Georgia Army National Guard is hosting an Educator Day which is intended for our centers of influence. Is this something you would be able to distribute to the High School Athletic Directors or coaches that are part of GACA? I have already distributed it to all Superintendents and HS Principals across the state. We are just trying to maximize reach to increase participation. I appreciate your consideration of this request.

During this unique experience, participants will have the chance to explore the various programs and initiatives designed to support students in their personal and academic growth. Our team will provide valuable insights into how collaboration with the Georgia Army National Guard can enrich the educational experience for students, offering a unique perspective on leadership, teamwork, and discipline.
