A Note to our Reid Temple AME Community
Reid Temple Family,
I pray this note finds you safe and in good health.
COVID-19 has captured the attention of the world. We must remain faithful in the eye of the storm. The Bible says in Hebrews 12:1, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We may not see the cure, but God sees it. God has delivered in the past; the same God will deliver us from COVID-19 or Corona Virus. The Bible says in Mark 11: 22 “Have Faith in God.”
Reid Temple is complying with all current federal, state and local directives on social gathering. We are practicing “social distancing.” Social distancing is a term applied to certain actions recommended by Public Health officials to stop or slow down the spread of a highly contagious disease. Since these measures have considerable impact on our faith community, our actions to start social distancing measures have been coordinated with local agencies such as counties, police departments and schools, as well as with state, local and federal officials.
We are following stringent health and safety cleaning protocols, which include thorough sanctuary cleaning between each worship service. We have paid great attention to high-touch point areas: doors, glass, doorknobs, counter tops, restroom areas, pews, handrails, altars, pulpit furnishing, and handrails. All classrooms, the Kitchen, Fellowship Hall, School, and Administrative Offices have been sanitized.
Therefore, the Stewards and Trustees voted to have worship services online. We will review these decisions and actions this coming Thursday. For now, all Reid Temple Staff, RTCA Staff, teachers, and RCDC Staff are working remotely. The Senior Center, RTCA, RCDC, the Credit Union and the Church are closed for two weeks.
We urge all members, friends, and visitors to stay at home and contact their doctors to be evaluated and tested if they are not feeling well.
We ask members and friends of Reid Temple to continue to tithe and give. Reid Temple still has operating expenses to cover.
