A Note From Pastor Linda
"Go into the streets and invite anyone you see; invite everyone you meet." ~Matthew 22
Who have you invited?
I remember when my Grandparents were approaching their 50
th wedding anniversary. My parents were planning a SURPRISE celebration. This was before Facebook and Evites- my parents sent out paper invitations to an Open House to celebrate this marriage milestone- no RSVP needed, just come- and if you know of someone who we missed- invite them too! As the day approached my parents anxiously wondered, "What if nobody shows up?"
In Matthew's gospel, Jesus tells a parable about a wedding banquet that presented a picture of the Kingdom of God.
From The Voice- Matthew 22:
The kingdom of heaven is like a king whose son was getting married. The king organized a great feast, a huge wedding banquet.
He invited everyone he knew. The day of the wedding arrived, and the king sent his servants into town to track down his guests-but when the servants approached them with the king's message, they refused to come.
When they refused to come the King sent out another invitation:
"Tell those people I've invited to come to the wedding banquet!
Tell them I have prepared a great feast! Everything is ready! The oxen and fattened cattle have all been butchered, the wine is decanted, and the table is laid out just so."
Still, they would not come and so finally the King sent out one final invitation:
"Go into the streets and invite anyone you see; invite everyone you meet." And the servants did just that- they went into the streets and invited everyone they met, rich and poor, good and bad, high and low, sick and well. Everyone who was invited came and the wedding hall practically burst with guests.
th Wedding Open House Celebration was a huge success. Helen and Stan (my grandparents) were surprised, as were my parents at the many guests who attended. We ran out of cake! I guess, looking back, this should not have been a surprise as their lives had influenced so many. Why would you NOT attend?
The Bible is FILLED with God's invitations.
- Come to me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11)
- Whoever is thirsty, let them come; and whoever wishes, let them take the free gift of the water of life (Revelation 22)
Why would you not attend? And bring a friend!!

There will be a place to enter first name, "Robert" and last name, "Bardy" and his obituary should pull up. I'm also pretty sure that if anyone just enters the last name, it will pull up. There aren't a lot of Bardy's in the world.
