A Message from Adat Ari El
May 9, 2022

We are reaching out to you, not just as a former member of Adat Ari El, but as a part of our Adat Ari El family. We hope you and yours are doing well and staying safe.

Community is ever more relevant in a world that has endured a viral pandemic, loneliness and unprecedented social and economic upheaval. When we show up for one another in the best way we know how, Jewish life plays a critical role in the challenges we will face in the future.

On a very basic level, in our hearts, we know Jewish life is transformational and communal. We sit shiva, argue over the meaning of Torah, light Shabbat candles, and give tzedakah because it is a matter of making our lives and the lives around us have meaning and significance.

You may be aware that in 2018 we rolled out an exciting new membership structure called the “Sustainability Model.” This welcoming and inclusive model completely replaced traditional, fixed membership dues. This year, we will need an average membership pledge of $3,200 per household. We know many households can contribute above this amount, and we understand some will need to contribute less. If our recommended contribution level is out of reach for you, please give a tzedakah amount that is meaningful for you. Whether you are looking to support a synagogue and re-join a warm and dynamic Jewish community, or there is just a special place in your heart for Adat Ari El, we welcome you with open arms.

Please join us! We want to be your Jewish home. We also invite you to share your thoughts with us. We would like to know what interests you, how to engage you in Jewish life at Adat Ari El, and if there are any other ways you would like to participate in the community.

Generations before us have “harnessed the power of Jewish life” and it is our responsibility to do it in our life time. We look to the future with renewed energy and intention and want to be there for you and yours for generations to come.

All dues contributions are tax-deductible, and do not need to be given in a lump sum, but can be paid out over time.

If you have questions or would like additional information, or you need any assistance navigating our website or with our membership process, we welcome you to contact Jessica Biber, our Director of Community Relations, at 818-766-9426

We are hopeful that through the meaningful contributions of a growing membership, we will be able to sustain and grow Adat Ari El for many years to come. We would love you to consider rejoining the Adat Ari El community.

L'shalom,
Lena Labowe
President
