Dear Friends in Christ,

September 11, 2001 is a day that we remember the tragic loss of thousands of innocent lives. Hundreds of firefighters, police officers, first responders and service members gave their lives to save others. The violence visited upon the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania are forever etched into our collective memory.

It hardly seems possible that twenty years have passed since that fateful day. This week, I met with the Very Rev. Matthew Woodward at Trinity Cathedral to reflect on this somber occasion. Attached is a brief video from that conversation. I hope that today you will join me in remembering the sacrifice of so many of our brothers and sisters that day.
Rest eternal, grant to them, O Lord. May their souls, and the souls of all the departed, Rest in Peace. Amen.
