A Message from the President

President Jim Morton

The spring semester is well underway, and we look forward to and reflect on the growth and exciting opportunities this semester has and will continue to provide.

CFCC’s Donor Appreciation Event was recently held to honor and express gratitude to our Foundation donors. We were given the privilege during this celebration to hear from student scholarship recipients whose lives have been directly impacted by the generosity of our donors.

This month, we hosted a variety of cultural events, including multiple programs dedicated to Black History Month as well as an International Film Festival showcasing screenings of three captivating foreign films. These experiences have added to our community's diverse cultural landscape and helped to promote a better understanding of how we see the world around us.

Additionally, the College had the pleasure of hosting a Healthcare Career Fair that was graciously sponsored by Novant Health. This event brought together 50 employers and over 200 students, providing invaluable networking and career advancement opportunities.

CFCC students are excelling not only in the classroom but also on the court. Our Women's Basketball team has been breaking records throughout the season and continues to thrive as one of the top teams in their conference.

I am pleased to announce some upcoming community activities as we prepare for the summer and fall semesters. A College and Career Information session for Spanish-speaking families will take place at our Burgaw Center on Wednesday, March 6. Join us for two Open House events on Tuesday, April 9, at the downtown Wilmington Campus and Thursday, April 11, at the North Campus. These are perfect opportunities for prospective students to explore what our college offers. Also, mark your calendars for our annual Riverfront Boat Show on Saturday, April 13. I hope you are able to attend these events!

With gratitude for your ongoing support,

Jim Morton
