I cried happy tears yesterday as the school assembled, socially distanced on picnic blankets, throughout the butterfly garden for our opening day assembly. Hineh Ma Tov Umanayim, Shevet achim gam yachad (How good and pleasant it is to sit together as brothers/friends) has long been the opening to our first day, our assemblies and to our kabbalot shabbat. It has never held more meaning than it did yesterday afternoon. After all of these months apart, it was incredibly uplifting to see everyone back together.
Thank you all for your patience and support as we work out the new systems of holding school in the time of Covid. There are a couple of things I would like to ask of you:
- Please help your children tighten their fanny packs. We don’t want them falling down, and the students may need some help adjusting them.
- Please be sure that your child’s masks fit snugly against their face. If they fall below their nose regularly, the teachers will reach out to you to let you know. We have some clips and tighteners at school, but would appreciate your help working it out before they come to school.
- Due to the new schedule and procedures, teachers have far fewer breaks during the day. Therefore, they are largely unable to read their email during the day. If you have an urgent need to be in touch with a teacher, please contact the front office. This is also true if you are having any issues with technology. Please call the front office for support.
