Dear Barrington 220 Community,

As the tragic events in Israel and Gaza continue to escalate this week, I wanted to share a few thoughts with our community. First, our hearts go out to all the innocent lives lost, wounded, and impacted by this conflict. We also recognize that the continuous media coverage and social media posts may contribute to feelings of anxiety for our students, staff, and families.

We want to remind you of counseling services available to all students who may need additional support. Members of our Student Services & Support teams at each of our schools are available to speak with students or staff members experiencing anxiety or stress related to this situation.

In addition, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) offers valuable guidance on promoting compassion and acceptance in a crisis. The San Diego County Office of Education also offers access to information about the war to assist educators and families in supporting students.

We understand this is a difficult time and we want to assure you that there are resources available to support those in need.
