Dear APAP Members and Colleagues,

First, I hope this message finds you safe and well.

I know that these times have been immeasurably difficult and that the performing arts field has been decimated by this crisis.

I have also said and will repeat: The arts are essential. Arts workers are essential.

For that reason, I am asking you today to consider signing onto a policy proposal to activate the creative economy with a comprehensive national recovery strategy "To Rebuild and Reimagine the United States Post-Pandemic, We Must Put Creative Workers to Work".

For a proposal informed by a coalition of arts service organizations, endorsed by more than 120 organizations and individuals, and driven by the leadership of Americans for the Arts, we hope to gather additional endorsements before forwarding it to both the Democratic and Republican Presidential campaigns. As it is scheduled be sent before Labor Day, would you consider signing it by this Friday, September 4?

Thank you for your support. I look forward to continuing our work together to secure and strengthen the future for the performing arts and for arts workers.

We are stronger together.

Sincerely,

Lisa Richards Toney
President and CEO, APAP
