A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
October 13, 2020

At today’s Council meeting, I informed City Council that I’ve directed the City to lower flags to half-staff this week in honor of the memory of former Commissioner Steve Libro, who passed away this past weekend. Mr. Libro served the City with distinction for many years and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

In honor of another former commissioner who recently passed away, I requested City Council’s support in naming our Fishing Pier and Kayak Launch facility after Jim Iannone. Mr. Iannone also served Sea Isle City with distinction for many years; and I believe this is a fitting honor to his memory. Construction of the Fishing Pier and Kayak Launch is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

In other news, I’ve been informed of, and have seen for myself, an unfortunate amount of trash and debris along the causeway leading to JFK Boulevard. I’ve communicated with County officials regarding this matter and they will be sending crews out on a regular basis to attend to this. While this may seem to be relatively minor, it’s important to maintain the City’s cleanliness.

Finally, please stay safe, be well, and remember that we are all one Sea Isle City – and together we will be stronger than ever.

Smile...You're in Sea Isle

Mayor Leonard Desiderio
