Greetings Huguenots,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. We are happy you are joining us as we embark on an exciting teaching and learning journey at New Rochelle High School. To the Class of 2025, welcome to the New Rochelle High School family.
We look forward to seeing our 9th and 10th graders on Friday, September 10 for orientation and on Monday, September 13, our first day of instruction. We look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in every possible way to achieve your academic and personal growth.
After last year’s virtual and then hybrid academic setting, we are excited to return to in-person instruction five days a week in our high school. Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our students, teachers and staff. As such, we will continue to implement COVID-19 safety protocols and urge your cooperation. Masks are mandated in nearly all indoor settings and on buses. In addition, social distancing of at least 3 feet is required where practicable, and we strongly recommend frequent hand washing or use of hand sanitizers. All visitors to our campus will be required to wear masks. Our District will continue to provide access to COVID-19 vaccinations for students and staff as well.
This year, I pledge to renew NRHS' commitment to excellence in all that we do. Our mission is to provide a world-class education with the expectation that all students can learn and be successful in every class. I will embrace working with you and supporting you while providing our students with vibrant opportunities to achieve academic success. For example, I will collaborate with you to find flexible solutions to complete work, make up assignments, be college- or career-ready, and have the opportunity to participate in advanced academic learning environments.
I also pledge to partner with you to continue implementing initiatives that promote teaching and learning in an environment that prioritizes and champions communication. A primary goal for this year is to address our graduation rate and 9th-grade students' successful completion of the school year. Our leadership team eagerly looks forward to partnering with parents, guardians, and families in this effort so we can enhance student performance in every content area and foster overall academic growth.
I am excited about all that this new school year offers. Together, we will work as a family to ensure that our students are provided with the best educational experience possible. While at New Rochelle High School, students will learn to be analytical and strategic thinkers, responsible citizens and be prepared to succeed in their goals after high school.
The New Rochelle High School family is committed to excellence and being a world-class teaching and learning institution. To achieve this goal, we embrace your participation and ask you to frequently communicate and collaborate with us.
To ensure excellent communication, please make sure that your phone number and email information are always up to date. Also, make sure that your home access account is active. Please contact our main office with questions.
Thank you. I look forward to meeting you and what promises to be an exceptional school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dagoberto Artiles
