Dear Oakwood Community,

I hope this email finds you safe and healthy. Back in February, we sent a parent survey to gauge your interest in a morning bus service to campus with the goal to improve the quality of life for our families. Thank you to everyone who responded, as the feedback we received showed that we have a critical mass of 36 students whose families would be interested in a morning bus route with stops near the intersections of (1) Fire Tower Rd. and Arlington Blvd. and (2) Fire Tower Rd. and Memorial Drive.

As a result, I am pleased to announce that Oakwood will offer an optional morning Eagle Bus Service for the 2020-21 school year with the following schedule:
  • 7:20 a.m. Pick Up at AMC Theater parking lot at 1685 E. Fire Tower Road, Greenville.
  • 7:35 a.m. Pick Up at Community Square Shopping Center parking lot (next to PCC) at 4054 S. Memorial Drive, Winterville.

Oakwood has estimated the lowest possible cost for our families to use this service to cover expenses for a bus driver, gas, maintenance, and wear and tear on the bus. The rates and payment options are as follows, and all billing will be done through FACTS based on the payment option selected by each family:

  • $500 per year for one student with lump sum payment of $500 due August 15, 2020; 2 semester payments of $250 each due August 15 and January 15; or 10 monthly payments of $50 due August 15 through May 15.
  • $800 per year for a family with 2 or more students with lump sum payment of $800 due August 15, 2020; 2 semester payments of $400 each due August 15 and January 15; or 10 monthly payments of $80 due August 15 through May 15.
Many of you already know Taylor Niemotka, an Oakwood fitness instructor, bus driver, and coach. She will be our Eagle Bus Service driver. Wanda Carr in the Business Office will be the point of contact for any Eagle Bus Service billing questions.

We are now taking online sign ups using  this Google Form until A ugust 15, 2020.

Thank you again for your feedback and ideas for ways Oakwood can serve our school community's needs and impro
ve the quality of life for our students and families. Special thanks also go to AMC Theaters and Oakwood  Corpo rate Partner Speight Properties for allowing us to use their parking lots for our bus sto ps.

Go Eagles!
