Dear Cathedral Community,

On Wednesday this week we celebrate Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the season of Lent. This year we return to our practice of offering a theme and resources to frame our Lenten journey in specific ways.

For this season, we have selected the topic of holistic wellness to center our meditations and reflections. We will be offering a Lenten Series with weekly sessions each Sunday at 11:30 am from February 26th to Palm Sunday, April 2nd. We will gather in the Cathedral House Reception Room.

The inherent yearning for introspection that comes with the season of Lent provides us with an extraordinary platform to create space to discern and explore our wellness practices in relevant areas of our lives. We will explore aspects of spiritual, vocational, emotional, financial, and physical wellness.

It is my hope that each one of us takes advantage of these offerings and embraces them as a spiritual practice to examine our rule of life and God’s dream for us to live life abundantly.

If you would like to learn more about the Lenten Series, please contact Dr. Jilda Aliotta, Tom Smith, or me. Below this note, you will find details for each Sunday session as well as other Lenten resources that are available online for your spiritual nourishment.

Additionally, our CSE leaders have graciously agreed to offer a hearty soup with bread each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. I will be in the nave each Wednesday from 5:30-6:00 p.m. available for prayer or pastoral conversation.

Please be assured of my prayers as we enter this holy and important season in our community and spiritual lives.

In Christ,
