Status of In Person Worship
God’s beloved at CTK:
This can a difficult time for all of us---not being physically together for worship, meetings, and Bible studies. Some are changing Thanksgiving and holiday plans out of caution. We worship a God who is loving and merciful. God is present with us as we stay home more out of concern for our health and concern for our neighbors. As your new pastor, I am here for you……feel free to call me for prayer, conversation, and encouragement.
The CTK Re-entry task force has been meeting to come up with a plan and made recommendations to the council for indoor worship. I thank them for their time and dedication. At this time, out of love for neighbors and abundance of caution---- your CTK council has decided to continue worshipping on line. My heart goes out to them and to all of you as this is not an easy decision.
Using the words of Bishop Erickson: "Recently, Gov. Evers issued a new executive order, urging all Wisconsinites to stay home as much as possible and avoid gatherings with people not part of your immediate family and household. While this order is advisory and not mandatory, I believe it is prudent and wise for the congregations of our synod to follow it. I therefore am strongly urging all congregations of the Greater Milwaukee Synod to discontinue any indoor gatherings for worship or other activities, at least for the short term"
Your CTK council will reassess the status in their December meeting. In the meantime, there are some exciting ideas being discussed for Advent and Christmas. If you have a creative idea---feel free to contact someone on the worship and music committee. We are the body of Christ---and we are in this together.
