Friday evening is sure to be a "M'kor Moment" in the making, as we join as a congregational community in celebrating the Installation of Cantor Rhoda Harrison during our Erev Shabbat Service (8:00 pm). We will welcome Cantor Richard Cohn, the Director of the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, as we will officially install our new Cantor. This is a truly sacred moment in a congregation's history, as a covenant is formed, and as a relationship is deepened, between a synagogue community and a new clergy-member. As Cantor Harrison's music inspires us, so do we, as a M'kor Shalom family, offer her blessings of welcome and gratitude, surrounded by the words and rituals of our tradition.
Our Choir will also join us for this very special service, and everyone is invited (and encouraged!) to bring their chanukiah and candles for our communal candle lighting that night.
Shabbat morning, Estherose Heyman will be leading Torah Study beginning at 9:00 am. And our Shabbat morning service begins at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary, during which we will celebrate the B'not Mitzvah of Hannah and Chloe McCarthy.
A Shabbat filled with many opportunities to celebrate! As we mark this wonderful moment in our synagogue's story, may we always go from strength to strength!
