Dear Friends,
I would like to express my gratitude to you. As Sustaining Members of our community, your leadership and commitment to Temple has continued to support and sustain our congregation from season to season. Through your support, we have accomplished so much. We are engaging a young and diverse new generation of Jewish community. We have weathered a global pandemic. We are ready and willing to face the challenges of the future.
Yet, once again, we are facing an operational deficit. Each year that we face a deficit, our challenges become greater. Our desire is to meet the growing spiritual and programmatic needs of every member and family while planning for the changing needs of a modern congregation.
- We have remained a voice for Jewish wisdom and values in our community for nearly 145 years – combatting the realities of antisemitism and working to keep our community safe. Security costs have risen to over $400,000 annually.
- Every child matters. We invest over $500,000 each year to make Jewish education affordable for every family.
I ask you to take a moment to reflect upon what Temple has meant to you over the years, and what it will mean to you and your family in the years to come. In the coming days, you will receive your Membership Renewal Packet, including this year’s Annual Report. Please read through it carefully, and consider joining the Circles of Giving in the coming year.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your annual contribution at any time – please reach out to Roberta Bonoff, Director of Advancement & Membership, at rbonoff@templeisrael.com, or at 612-374-0348 to set up a time.
The Talmud teaches us, Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh – Each of us is responsible for one another, and for our community. We have inherited an incredible legacy from those who have come before us, and we must continue to steward this legacy for the generations to come. Please join me in giving today.
B’virkat shalom – With blessings of peace,
