Dear Parents,

Although much uncertainty remains with the upcoming school year, I want to assure you that our Board, administration, faculty, and staff continue to work diligently on our planning for the opening of the new school year. We are steadfast and committed to our core values, Mission, Vision, and delivery of excellence in whatever format.

Our primary efforts have us all on campus at school on August 19, 2020. However, with so much uncertainty, we are looking at a few scenarios in light of COVID-19 health, safety, and social distancing guidelines. Depending on CDC, County, State, National, and Florida Council of Independent School guidelines, different scenarios may be initiated. The scenarios we will be prepared for are:
  • All students on campus, Monday through Friday, with health, safety, and social distancing protocols in place.
  • A hybrid model of the above, where remote learning is a part of teaching and learning at SSEDS, due to campus closures or a student's inability to attend.
  • All students at home Remote Learning.
Our goal is to articulate the details of these three models by the end of May. Hopefully, as more unfolds, we will be able to indicate the most likely scenario come August. However, please keep in mind the volatile nature of COVID-19. There may be several iterations throughout the summer based on the disease progression, treatment options, and/or development and distribution of a vaccine. We will keep you informed.

As we come to the end of this school year, enjoy your children, take time to celebrate them and their accomplishments. There have been many. They are the true champions in all of this!

Warmly,

Silvia
