As we look ahead to the next two months, we are discussing the upcoming events on our school calendar. With conferences happening this week and next, the next event on the calendar is Parent Preview. While this will happen, we plan to move it to later in May, and we will keep you posted on the date and the approach we will take in the remote format.
Spanish Day is scheduled for next Friday. While we will not have our full school Spanish language and culture celebration, please look for some special songs from our youngest students shared over Seesaw and Google Classroom for all to enjoy. Our early childhood students have a special song to share with our community to honor Mrs. Mac in her final year at Pine Cobble, as she retires as our early childhood Spanish teacher. Maria will move to Florida this summer. She has been with us for eight years, and this is one small way to honor all that she has brought to our community.
Please note that May 11th printed on the calendar as a professional development day will be a regular day of school with all of our remote learning classes happening. May 25th, Memorial Day, we will not have school. More information will come in the next few weeks about the formal dance for sixth through ninth graders and our June events.
I have had a wonderful week visiting students in Vermont and Massachusetts. Next week I will continue with visits in Williamstown, Hancock, New Ashford and Pittsfield, and the following week I'll head over to New York. Your children have warmed my heart with their smiling faces and highlights of writing tall tales, researching national parks, creating rhythms, taking part in mindfulness exercises, and even making their own pair of shoes for a STEAM project.
Thank you for sharing them with me. They are an amazing bunch of learners and thoughtful human beings.
