Dejon celebrates his win at TASC's 2024 Summer Tournament.

Dear Supporters,

As we begin 2025, we are filled with gratitude and pride, reflecting on a year of incredible milestones and meaningful progress at TASC. This past year, we celebrated the incredible achievements of our clients, embraced new members into the TASC family, honored the memories of those we’ve lost, and continued to find innovative ways to empower the individuals we serve.

One of the most significant changes in 2024 was the transformation of our services at TASC’s Antelope Valley location. We’ve discontinued the licensed facility at 646 W. Lancaster Blvd, previously part of AVFDD (DayStar). In alignment with the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Final Rule, all clients from the site have transitioned into community-based programs, where they are thriving and enjoying greater opportunities for connection and inclusion. That site will now serve as a hub for company offices, employee meetings, and training for TASC staff and community partners. This step reflects our commitment to moving clients out of segregated, institution-like settings into community-based programs that foster independence and honor individual choices.

TASC also expanded to new offices in Santa Clarita and Mojave, bringing our highly individualized, client-centered services to an area that has been critically underserved. Since every individual’s journey is unique, our programs are designed to empower clients by tailoring support to their specific goals, interests, and needs. We’re excited to be able to offer our distinctive approach to even more individuals and families.

Our clients achieved new levels of independence, with highlights including Isaac’s journey from receiving janitorial training to becoming a full-time employee at TASC, thanks to the skills and responsibility he developed with the support of his coaches. Dalloya has made incredible strides as her staff have learned how to better communicate with her, giving her more opportunities to express herself and explore the things she loves. This summer, she experienced something new and exciting, floating in the lazy river at DryTown, a moment that truly captured her adventurous spirit. These stories showcase the transformative impact of personalized support and the incredible potential of the individuals we serve.

Our goal at TASC has been to reduce mental health and behavioral challenges through a holistic and whole-person approach. We introduced four new skill acquisition classes and therapies, providing clients with more tools to reach their goals, including expressive arts, adaptive trauma-informed yoga, and specialized nutrition and exercise programs led by certified and licensed professionals in their fields.

As we step into 2025, we recognize that the year has brought its share of challenges, from local fires to global unrest, and a rapidly shifting political landscape. These events have tested our resilience, but they have also strengthened our resolve to continue our work in creating opportunities and empowering individuals. At TASC, we remain committed to fostering a brighter, more inclusive future for our clients and communities. Together, with your support, we are looking forward to a positive and prosperous year, filled with growth and connection.

Thank you for standing with us in 2024. We look forward to continuing this journey with you in 2025 and beyond.

In gratitude,

Dennis Rutnam
