El Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de New Rochelle ha contratado al Dr. Corey W. Reynolds, a la izquierda, como el nuevo Asistente del Superintendente de Recursos Humanos. Reynolds sucede a Ryan Reed y comienza oficialmente el 2 de agosto de 2021.
“Estoy emocionado por la oportunidad de unirme al equipo de liderazgo en el Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de New Rochelle”, dijo Reynolds. “Mi objetivo es servir a todos los miembros de la comunidad educativa de New Rochelle, incluidos nuestros estudiantes, facultad y personal. Me siento honrado por la confianza depositada en mí por la Junta de Educación de New Rochelle y el Superintendente Jonathan Raymond ”.
Reynolds ofrece una experiencia completa trabajando en distritos escolares del condado de Westchester en una variedad de roles. Comenzó como maestro de escuela primaria en las escuelas de Mount Vernon y del Distrito Escolar Central de Greenburgh, y luego ascendió en los rangos administrativos con el objetivo de ayudar a los estudiantes más allá de las paredes de su propio salón de clases. Recientemente se desempeñó como Superintendente Asistente de Currículo, Instrucción y Personal en Greenburgh. También ocupó el cargo de Asistente del Superintendente de Recursos Humanos en el Distrito Escolar de White Plains; fue Superintendente Asistente de Supervisión, Plan de Estudios e Instrucción para la Administración Primaria en las Escuelas Públicas de Yonkers; y fue subdirector y director durante una década en el distrito escolar libre de Ossining Union.
"Esperamos que el Dr. Reynolds traiga su amplia experiencia a New Rochelle", dijo Raymond. "Su historial demuestra su compromiso de fomentar las relaciones de colaboración, escuchar, aprender y formular estrategias y decisiones teniendo en cuenta los mejores intereses de nuestros estudiantes".
Reynolds también se compromete a interactuar con la comunidad. Su actividad pasada y actual incluye servir en el Comité Asesor de Liderazgo para el Centro de Liderazgo Educativo de la Junta de Servicios Educativos Cooperativos de Putnam/Northern Westchester, y la Junta Asesora de la Iniciativa My Brother’s Keeper de la Ciudad de White Plains. Actualmente es presidente de la Fundación de Becas Beta Alpha Alpha, que ha donado más de $250,000 en becas a hombres negros y latinos del condado de Westchester que asisten a universidades de todo el país.
Reynolds recibió su licenciatura en inglés de la Universidad de Seton Hall y su maestría en educación primaria de la Universidad de Fordham. Recibió su segunda maestría en el College of New Rochelle, especializándose en Administración y Supervisión Escolar, y luego regresó a Seton Hall para su doctorado en Liderazgo, Gestión y Políticas Educativas.
