It's hard to believe we are already moving into the fall season. This year has flown by and before you know it the holidays will be here and we will be busy with friends and family while trying to scramble to close everything out before the end of the year.

I wanted to take just a moment to give a quick update. We are now three years into the merger as the Southeastern Border Association of Realtors (SEBAR) and things have been running smoothly despite the unprecedented times of COVID. You have all helped blend two unique associations into one in which our members can be proud of. We have remained financially sound and continue to strive to provide our members industry leading benefits, services and resources needed to further their business.

The merge has gone so well in fact that the Downriver and Monroe Chapter Regents held a joint meeting in July to discuss continuing with the Chapter Regent Boards. Their recommendation was to dissolve the Chapter Board of Regents at the end of this year which was approved and passed by the SEBAR Board of Directors. What does this mean moving forward? The only change is that there will no longer be four (4) separate boards governing the Association and MLS. We will continue to have two offices, one in Downriver and one in Monroe in which all SEBAR member can utilize and we will continue to have a representative from each Chapter elected each year to serve on the SEBAR Board of Directors. We will be holding an election for our 2022 Board of Directors beginning in October. You can view candidate videos on our SEBAR Facebook page or by clicking here.

Here are just a few of the things we've been able to accomplish and/or provide to our members this year:
  • Began offering FOREWARN to all SEBAR Realtor members for FREE
  • Offered over 25 Education classes, with 21 hours of FREE con-ed credit
  • Held 6 additional con-ed classes that included the NAR mandatory COE
  • Held 2 successful and fun RPAC events
  • Have raised nearly $15,000 for our Charitable Foundation
  • Held our Member Appreciation Picnic
  • And much, much more!
