A Message of Thanks

Lancaster City Schools has a great deal to be thankful for. We know that. Not only do we continue to raise the bar academically, providing outstanding opportunities for our students to grow and develop while aspiring to the model of Portrait of a Graduate, but we also boast the most talented teachers, faculty, and employees any district could hope for. From our Board members to our volunteers and substitutes, LCS retains dedicated individuals who truly care about the students entrusted to us. We also would be remiss if we did not give thanks that we have not endured a major crisis this year as we watch many others in our state, country and around the world struggle. As you enjoy your Thanksgiving break, we hope it will involve family and friends, a good meal and joy.

Most of all, we hope you know we are thankful to YOU and thankful for you.

Happy Thanksgiving -

Be Thankful – A Poem

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.

If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something,

for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.

During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,

because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.

They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,

because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who

are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,

and they can become your blessings.
