The Vestry welcomed four new Vestry members, beginning their three-year term in January — Kathy DeSanti-Paulini, Sherryl Dorch, Steve Littlewood, and Linda Lee Malone. They were installed during the 9:30 a.m. worship service on January 8.
We want to thank the following individuals who have completed their three-year Vestry term for their service and tremendous work — Lizzie Becker, Lynne Brents, Jason Crum, and Zara Harris. We especially want to thank Jason for his incredible leadership in 2022 as Senior Warden!

At the end of 2022 the Vestry took part in an internal Mutual Ministry Review designed to review and evaluate the ministries at Holy Comforter specific to the parish’s mission in our Christian community. Each Vestry member was asked to pray and answer a series of questions. The answers to those questions were aggregated and discussed. From that discussion two themes came out of that Review:
- How can we be more effective at what we are doing now?
- How can we grow as a congregation?
As these two themes were discussed, to assist us in moving forward tactically and strategically, four areas of focus were identified:
- Communication
- Volunteerism
- Growth
- Strategic planning
On Saturday January 14 your Vestry spent half a day on a retreat in the Ministry Center to reflect and pray for 2023, specific to the two identified themes and four areas focus. Our goal is to have these as “pillars” for 2023.
As we move forward in 2023 your Vestry will continue its work on these two themes and four areas of focus. We look forward to sharing more details on this at the Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, February 26. Please keep us in your prayers.
