The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in our state are going up. Employers need to remain vigilant in their efforts to keep positive cases in check.
“We are experiencing statewide numbers greater than what we saw in April and May, the previous record months, for COVID-related hospitalizations,” said Terry M. Murphy, FACHE, president and CEO of Kent County-based Bayhealth. This is troubling because people suffering from heart attacks, strokes, broken bones and other health emergencies persist.

president and CEO of ChristianaCare offered this: “Our experience from the spring helped us to be even better prepared for this current surge, but the rising numbers present real challenges for Delaware’s hospitals. We need everyone to come together to help stop the spread of COVID-19 while we wait for the vaccine.”
While we are encouraged by the rollout of vaccines, we have many months to go before the net benefits of those vaccines becomes evident.
