A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENTS

Mohamed El-Tayash holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Philosophy from the University of Missouri and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls.

For the past twenty years, Mr. El-Tayash has served as a dedicated educator at Al-Amal School, teaching Islamic Studies and Social Studies. While he continues to teach two courses this year, his primary focus is on developing and leading Al-Amal’s newly established Office of the Dean of Students, where he works to strengthen school culture and student growth.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. El-Tayash has been actively involved in numerous community initiatives throughout the Twin Cities for the past two decades. He also serves as the Principal of the NWICC Sunday School in Plymouth, Minnesota, where he continues his commitment to education and community development

Assalamu Alaikum,

Dear Students and Families,

As we conclude the first quarter of the school year, I am proud to reflect on the many positive strides our school community has made. From engaging classroom projects to spirited extracurricular activities, our students continue to show commitment, creativity, and growth. Masha’Allah, it has been inspiring to see the energy and pride that fill our hallways each day, although we always have room for improvement.

A key focus this quarter has been maintaining the integrity of our classrooms. We are dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to learn in an environment that is focused, respectful, and free from unnecessary distractions. When students’ behavior interferes with learning, we address those situations promptly and fairly. Equally important, we work with those students to help them reflect, learn from their actions, and develop the skills needed to return to class ready to succeed. Our goal is not just discipline, but reform and growth—helping all students become their best selves.

To highlight both student and teacher achievements and the many positive happenings around our campus, we invite you to visit my webpage below:

It is still a work in progress, but so far it is coming together nicely Masha’Allah. There, you will be able to find updates and archives of what our school has been achieving throughout the school year Insha’Allah.

We ask Allah to increase our quality as a school and continue our growth as a community, Ameen.
