Dear Church Family,
“Grace and peace from God the father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God and our Father. To whom be glory for ever and ever Amen’ (Gal 1:3-5). They say that time flies when you’re having fun. These several months have certainly been enjoyable and challenging since we answered God’s call to St. Peter. Sometimes the challenge was so great we were not able to savor every moment, yet in retrospect “all things were working together for our good”.
This year will bring it’s own set of challenges, but we are CONFIDENT of this one thing, He who began a good work in us will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Phil. 1:6) By the grace of God we are moving toward a New Year and new challenges, but we have a tried and trusted hope. As a church family we will continue to walk in the legacy of those who came before us.
Let us see opportunities not obstacles, potential not problems and success not shortage. Remember Paul’s words to the Philippians, “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there be anything excellent and anything praiseworthy, think on these things.” 4:8
The days ahead may be daunting, so as pastor I ask that you join me in prayer for discernment.
Thank you for your council and support over past 6 months and may God continue to bless and keep each of you.
With Love, Your Servant,
Pastor Rev. James A. Washington, Jr.
