Dear Chartiers Valley Family,

In alignment with recent recommendations from our state leaders and the continued uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 virus, Chartiers Valley School District will remain closed indefinitely until further notice.

As of today, no end date has been determined by the Governor's office for PA schools and businesses. In the meantime, we will continue to provide meaningful educational experiences through the Continuity of Education Plan outlined in previous memos and on the District website.

Given the unpredictable nature of this situation, we are uncertain at this time how the closure will impact previously scheduled events for our senior students. We will try to develop alternative plans so that we are prepared for a variety of possibilities, which will depend on guidance and direction from the Governor's office.  Please know that decisions will be made carefully and thoughtfully, with our students' safety as our primary concern.

Please continue to practice social distancing and follow the Governor's stay-home orders, which were extended yesterday until April 30, 2020. As challenging as this is for our community, we all must all do our part to "flatten the curve" and avoid prolonging this unfortunate situation.

We will get through this together!

Stay well,

Johannah M. Vanatta, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
