Good Afternoon,
Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority is doing business differently and that means we are trying to make processes more accessible and efficient for you. Coming soon, RTA submissions will be done online via the Rent Café Partner Portal. We provided an Ask the Expert sneak peek at the process to several property owners recently. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive regarding the process. You can find the PowerPoint that was presented on the CMHA website in the documents section or click here.
CMHA Moves to All Online Document and Application Submissions
We're excited to announce that CMHA is transitioning to a fully online system for all document and application submissions. This digital shift to the online portal will bring numerous benefits to our participants and partners including:
-
24/7 Accessibility: Submit documents and applications at any time, from anywhere with internet access.
-
Efficiency: Information will be easily and immediately accessible to CMHA for processing, eliminating lost or misplaced paperwork.
-
Immediate Confirmation: Receive instant confirmation that your submission has been received.
For those who need assistance with your portal log in, please call Customer Service at 513-977-5800. There is someone currently available at 1635 Western Avenue who can also help navigate the online process. Please note that this change will also eliminate CMHA’s Drop Boxes located in the parking lot on Western Ave.
Coming June 16th! – Online submissions for Request for Tenancy Approval
CMHA is moving the Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA) online. We understand this will be a new change and CMHA is providing training (online/in-person), and resource guides to assist everyone in completing the process. More information is coming soon. Check our website www.cintimha.com and other published communications for additional information and to register to attend one of the preview sessions. RTA Express will be eliminated June 12th. All RTAs must be submitted electronically effective June 16th. Please attend a training session or review information posted to our website on this new process.
Furthermore, I will be going out to various library locations to provide informational sessions for property owners interested in getting more information on recently implemented changes as well as a look at what further enhancements will take place in the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Join me in June at the Blue Ash Branch or the North Central Branch. Click here to see full details
As an additional reminder, as of January 1, 2025, a unit must include a ten-year tamper resistant battery-operated or hard-wired smoke detector, in proper working condition, in each of the following locations: - On each level of the unit; - Inside each bedroom; - Within 21 feet of any door to a bedroom measured along a path of travel. Units not abiding by these requirements will fail an inspection requiring a 24-hour correction. Carbon monoxide detectors are required for units with attached garages and those with fuel burning appliances. Additionally, HUD previously extended the deadline for implementation of NSPIRE V. The implementation of the new Inspection Standards is October 1, 2025. Please click here to visit HUD’s website.
Again, I want to express my gratitude to all of you for partnering with CMHA to provide affordable housing solutions to the families of Hamilton County. It was an honor to see and recognize many of you at the Appreciation Banquet. Attendees heard from CEO Gregory D. Johnson, CMHA Board Chair William Myles, CMHA Board Vice Chair LaVerne Mitchell and the keynote speaker was Hamilton County Commission President Denise Driehaus. New this year, door prizes were raffled off in addition to the swag bags each attendee received. Additionally, if you would like to recognize a property owner or manager for doing great work, please send suggestions and details as to why CMHA should recognize them by emailing hcvhelp@cintimha.com.
