A Message from the Virginia AGD President on COVID-19

The Virginia AGD is closely monitoring the evolving situation regarding Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) domestically and abroad. As you are aware, there continues to be an increase in the number of individuals infected. Many organizations are suspending meetings and travel in response to this threat. Schools and businesses are on alert for daily updates from the CDC.

In response to this outbreak, Virginia AGD has decided to cancel all CE activities scheduled in the next 3o days. This includes Dr. Bruder’s course scheduled for March 20th in Tysons, VA.  At this time, Virginia AGD courses past 30 days are planned to be held as scheduled. We will continue to observe the evolving nature of this outbreak, stay current with updated guidelines, and ensure participant’s safety through best practices.

Our number one priority is the health and safety of our members. To give you the greatest flexibility, any Virginia AGD courses for which you have registered are fully refundable up to the time of the event. Attendees who do not feel well should stay home. This practice aligns with the  Centers for Disease Control recommendations  to use isolation and other routine preventive measures as an important part of everyday preventative actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including the flu.

On Friday, March 6 th , National AGD published a  “COVID-19 Information”  webpage where answers to frequently asked questions as well as a collection of resources are being compiled. If you choose to limit your travel, we urge you to explore the virtual learning options provided by AGD National: https://www.agd.org/continuing-education-events/take-courses .

As the situation evolves, we will provide updates through email, our website, and our social media channels ( Facebook:VirginiaAGD , Instagram:VirginiaAGD ).

Thank you for your support and understanding.
