Dear Chamber Members, Partners, and Friends,

Yesterday marked a historic moment for Texas and our nation, bringing with it a renewed sense of hope and possibility.

For many in our community, the hope we feel about tomorrow was shaped by what happened last night. After years of uncertainty, challenges, and hard-fought efforts to advance equality, this moment reminds us that progress is possible and that every voice has the power to shape our collective future.

Across the country, voters made history, breaking barriers and opening new doors for representation. These milestones are especially meaningful for communities that have long fought for a seat at the table. They remind us that our democracy is strongest when more people can see themselves reflected in the leadership and decisions that shape their lives.

But now comes the most important question: What will we do with this moment?

For us, the answer begins right here in San Antonio.

It means creating more opportunities for small businesses, opening doors for entrepreneurs, and ensuring LGBTQ+ people, especially our transgender and gender-expansive neighbors, are not left behind as we move forward.

It means turning renewed hope into meaningful progress that people can see and feel in their everyday lives.

At the San Antonio LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, we have always believed that economic opportunity and equality belong together. Our mission remains grounded in bringing people together, building relationships, and creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Tomorrow, we'll gather for our Annual Elected Officials Reception. I cannot imagine a more meaningful time to bring business owners, community leaders, and elected officials together. Regardless of political affiliation, we have an opportunity to build bridges, strengthen partnerships, and begin shaping what comes next.

Dolores Huerta reminded us that "Sí, se puede."

Today, those words carry a renewed meaning. Yes, we can imagine something better. Yes, we can overcome barriers. And yes, we can build a future where opportunity and belonging are within everyone's reach.

But we must be willing to do the work.

So I'm asking you to join us. Get involved with the Chamber. Support LGBTQ+ and allied businesses. Share your voice. Mentor someone. Advocate for your community. Help us turn this moment into lasting opportunity.

Last night gave many of us a reason to believe again. What we do tomorrow, and every day after, will determine what that hope becomes.

I am incredibly grateful to be part of a community that continues to lead with courage, compassion, and determination.

Let's make this moment matter. Let's turn hope into something we can build together.

With renewed hope and purpose,

Luis A. Vazquez (he/him)
