We are thrilled to share a milestone with you - Housing Unlimited opened its 90th home! This accomplishment is a testament to the power of community and the impact of your support.
This year we opened SIX new homes, affording Housing Unlimited the opportunity to help more individuals like Marcus Sealey, who revealed:

"I was struggling at one time to where I just gave up on life. I was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer while I was in the homeless shelter. I knew I had to get serious with my life, so I decided to look for a place. That’s when I found out about Housing Unlimited and the great work they do. Now I have a stable house and I can go ahead and apply for jobs and can say that I have somewhere they can send mail. I was able to buy a phone. Housing Unlimited is the best program. It’s real!"

What a great testament to the importance of housing, don’t you agree? However, our work at Housing Unlimited is far from complete. There are still many individuals in mental health recovery who require affordable, independent housing. We need your help to continue our mission.

Your generous donation, no matter the size, can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Through your support, Housing Unlimited can continue to empower tenants to thrive in their communities as neighbors, friends, employees, and volunteers. Every dollar helps, and here are examples of how your support gets utilized:
• $50 for Welcome Baskets for new tenants (cleaning supplies, sheets, towels, and other new home essentials)
• $100 for Tenants Council events (Tenants Council is a peer-led tenants association that provides community building within the Housing Unlimited tenant community by fostering peer support, networking, and social programming. Learn more at www.housingunlimited.org)
• $250 for paid tenant internship stipends so that tenants can get real-world experience
Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of our Housing Unlimited family. Together, we change lives and create a better future for those in mental health recovery!

Stephanie Joseph
Program Associate
Housing Unlimited (HUI) Program Associate Stephanie Joseph has been working in the Finance Department at Housing Unlimited for four years. Stephanie is proud to work at HUI and shares that her experience as an individual in mental health recovery informs her personal desire to help others living with similar challenges. Stephanie elaborates, “Mental health is my passion and I dedicate my work at HUI to the memory of my father who I lost to suicide in 2011. I would like to see an end to the stigma of mental illness and believe that excellent quality mental health care is a right that should be made available to all persons.”

Lisa Cook
Director of Property Development
HUI purchased its 90th home this year, and guess who's been key to all of our purchases and who manages to turn each house into a home? Lisa Cook oversees all aspects of daily maintenance work as well as major renovations of our homes, and it was a particularly busy year with the acquisition of six new properties!
Lisa leads a life of giving back and is eager to make her "mom" proud. She recalls going to church every Sunday where her grandmother whom she endearingly refers to as "Mom” was the organist and sang in the senior choir. We at HUI have no doubt that Lisa has indeed made her "mom" proud.
