Bissell Eye Care is a drop off site for eyeglasses donations to support the local Lion's Club.  Lion's Clubs help to support vision impaired in local communities and around the world.  If you have eyeglasses that are no longer of use, drop off your old glasses at our office located at
5900 Heckert Rd., Bakerstown, PA 15007.

It's a new year and time to set your goals and clearly define a vision on how to get there. But, what if you cannot see clearly? How will this affect your journey of obtaining those goals in the new year?

In A Mother's Story, our own Dr. Nicole Long-Fratangelo has a message for new parents as she shares her experience regarding her own son's development and the steps she took to overcome his challenges because he was extremely farsighted.  She was able remedy the situation, giving her son a new clear path for future development.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month. Did you know Glaucoma is hereditary? Please take the time to have your eyes checked if it runs in your family. Better to take the necessary steps now to avoid issues in the future.

When you first hold your newborn and have counted 10 fingers and 10 toes, there is a sigh of relief that you delivered a healthy baby who will progress in development and growth. Dr. Nicole Long-Fratangelo, one of our optometrists at Bissell Eye Care's Natrona Heights location, recently had her second child and shares her story with new parents.

Everything was perfect. Alessio was born a healthy, beautiful baby boy. He was gaining weight and thriving. It was an exciting time for our family, we had just bought a new house and were in the process of moving. Dr. Long-Fratangelo follows her own mother's intuition and shares her own story....

GLAUCOMA - WHAT DOES YOUR FAMILY TREE SAY?

A new year is a time for a new beginning, resolutions and making a fresh start. The top resolutions on the list typically are to lose weight and take better care of your health. As we turn the page on another calendar year and move into 2017, make sure taking care of your eyes is on the list. 
 
January is National Glaucoma awareness month. Learn the effects of this disease, how early detection can prevent permanent vision loss and what treatment options are available should you be diagnosed with Glaucoma. Do you fall in these risk factors?
