A Needle Exchange Project Modeled on Urban Efforts Aims to Save Lives in Rural Nevada

Richard Cusolito believes he’s saving lives by distributing clean syringes and needles to people who use drugs in this rural area of northeastern Nevada — but he knows some residents disagree.

Drugs, including heroin and other opioids, are readily available in Elko, and Cusolito said a program like his has long been needed. Cusolito is a peer recovery support specialist and received training through Trac-B Exchange, a Las Vegas-based organization that provides a range of harm reduction services throughout Nevada.

Nevada Medicaid Rate Review Survey

Dear Provider,
It’s that time again for the quadrennial Medicaid rate review process! In some cases, a rate review may warrant a recommendation by the Division to the Director for an increase in reimbursement for certain providers.
We need your help to make sure that we have the information needed to complete this review. Provider Types listed below should immediately complete the survey.
The deadline is September 16th.
Again, the surveys, provider types under rate review, and instructions are available at: https://dhcfp.nv.gov/Resources/Rates/QRR/
Questions? Contact: QRR@DHCFP.nv.gov
As a reminder, providers are asked to print, post, and distribute Update Your Address and NV Medicaid App flyers for members. This notification may be distributed to staff so that anyone who is interested in signing up for the ListServ can do so.
