Student Council
Greetings!

A Blessed and Happy New Year to all of our friends and benefactors!

As we usher in the New Year, we also begin the process of recruiting for the Class of 2027. We will be visiting several local parishes to inform their parishioners of the amazing mission that we have undertaken here at The De La Salle School. This class will start fifth grade in September and when they graduate in June of 2027, they will represent our twenty-second graduating class. We have come a long way since our humble beginnings back in 2002, yet there is still much more that is needed to continue the mission of providing a quality human and Christian education in the Lasallian tradition for young men from economically challenged families here on Long Island.

This week we began administering our Mid Term exams, a clear indicator that the school year has reached the half way point and the second semester is about to begin. Students are diligently studying and preparing each subject area, hoping for positive results, as they conclude the first semester of the academic year. There is a real sense of determination and pride in the building as the young men look to successfully finish the first semester on a high note.

Although September seems far off, our eighth graders are making decisions about high school since the Catholic High School Entrance Exam results have arrived. Congratulations to the eighth grade class for being accepted to one or more of the following schools; Chaminade, Kellenberg and Holy Trinity. The challenge now is to assist our students’ families in procuring the financial aid they need in order to enroll. Unfortunately, need based scholarships at a sufficient level are not available from all of the schools. The search for benefactors to assist in meeting high school tuition payments for our alumni is a part of our mission and the fundraising effort of The De La Salle School.

Thank you for the support and encouragement that we received in 2022 and please be assured of our continued prayers for all our friends and benefactors throughout 2023.

Live Jesus in our Hearts...
