Just Released: UR16e- With the
Highest Payload Yet
The new Universal Robots UR16e delivers an impressive 16kg (35.3 lbs.) of payload- the most yet- within a small footprint, and is ideal for heavy-duty tasks like machine tending, material handling, packaging, material removal, and screw and nut driving applications. This powerhouse robot allows for heavier end of arm tooling and can lift multiple parts in a single pick, making tasks much more efficient by achieving shorter cycle times. The UR16e reach is 900 mm (35.4 inches).
New Machine Tending Gripper Kit
  • Improve cycle time with a dual Hand-E configuration, which lets you handle more objects at a time.
  • Move your robot from one machine to another for a faster ROI. Machine Tending Copilot includes Force Copilot and Contact Offset, which lets you move your robot from one machine to another without having to reprogram it.
  • Increase precision and reliability with Force Copilot. Force Copilot helps you execute repeatable part positioning within a CNC fixture.
  • Built for industrial applications and harsh environments. With an IP rating of 67, Hand-E and the Robotiq Wrist Camera can withstand harsh industrial conditions, such as chips, cutting oil, and coolant.
  • Don't worry about part presentation. Pick any part with an easy-to-use camera built for Universal Robots. The new Visual Offset function on the Robotiq Wrist Camera lets you locate a tray of parts without any complex part presentation systems.
Why Deep-Learning Based Vision Systems
are the Better Choice
Artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies are revolutionizing almost every single industry, including factory automation.

At the end of the production line, final assembly verification has often been done manually with human inspectors as it can be too complex or impractical to automate. But deep learning-enabled vision systems, like Cognex ViDi, learn to handle part variations faster and more consistently than conventional inspection methods.
Improved Internal Logistics By Way of AMR's
Visteon implemented seven MiR100 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) from Mobile Industrial Robots to improve the company’s internal logistics autonomy, increase staff productivity, and facilitate the remote control of the AMRs while tracing material delivery.

“These robots enable our workers to be more productive as they focus on tasks that provide greater value for the company,” says Arturo Robledo Ulloa, plant manager at Visteon’s Reynosa, Mexico, plant.

One MIR100 robot can deliver materials to three production lines, Ulloa says. “All of our robots are working three shifts a day, so the robots have hugely increased our capacity.”
We Invite You to:
Nissan Manufacturing Innovation Summit
October 2-3 in Smyrna, TN
The event provides manufacturers exposure to new and innovative ideas for improving quality and lowering costs in the industry. It is hosted by the SME43.
Visit us at booth 17 to see our solutions for automation and for the automotive industry, including robotics (with the new UR16e!), machine vision & ID, and more.
We'll also be hosting a breakout session: "Collaborative Robots- Breaking Down the Automation Barrier".
Attend Collaborative Robots Safety Training
The RIA (Robotic Industries Association) is the only trade group in North America organized specifically to serve the robotics industry. Since the release of the RIA TR15.606-2016, Collaborative Robots safety requirements specific to collaborative applications and robot systems are now in focus. This class will ensure you're trained on the latest in collaborative application safety.
Students will go through:
  • Basic Robot Safety Requirements
  • Introduction to Standards including the ISO/TS 15066:2016
  • Considerations unique to Collaborative Applications
  • Risk Assessment Practical Exercise using a Power and Force Limited application example
