We invite you to join us for the Grand Opening of Sycamore Trails Park, 1681 Maue Road on Saturday, September 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. After nearly 25 years of planning, two years of dedicated effort and significant community input and support, the transformation of this park, originally dedicated to the city in 1970, has finally been realized.
This event will feature food trucks, a community picnic (bring your own packed lunch), basketball, pickleball and tennis tournaments with prizes for the winners, golf cart tours of the park, a fishing derby, face painting, a yoga class and much more!

Habitat for Humanity Hosts Ribbon Cutting
of Faith Build Home

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton conducted its first nail ceremony during a ribbon-cutting event last month in Miamisburg.
This event is a component of the 2025 Faith Build Kickoff initiative. The ceremony took place on August 29, at the work site of the new home located at 722 N. 9th St.
Mayor Michelle Collins, along with members of the City Council, participated in the ribbon-cutting alongside the future homeowner, Kacey, and her daughter, engaging in the nail-in ceremony.
Faith Build is an annual themed project by Habitat for Humanity aimed at uniting local churches, faith-based organizations, and businesses.
| | Holland Field Set to Host the Annual 9/11 Memorial Stay Climb | | |
The 5th Annual Miamisburg High School 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025.
This event is to honor all of the lives lost during the attacks on September 11, 2001, but especially the 343 firefighters and 241 police officers that died as a result of the 9/11 attacks. The climb will start at 8:20 a.m. and wrap up at 8:40 a.m. It will include first responders, military personnel, community members, staff members and students. It's a great opportunity to recognize and thank all the first responders and military for their service to our community and to our great country.
Attendees will walk up and down the bleachers at Holland Field to honor the victims of 9/11. They will also receive a card representing the victim for whom they will be climbing . As they the stadium, they will ring a bell and say the person's name they climbed for. This year will be the 24th anniversary of 9/11.

Local Businesses Provide Lunch to Honor First Responders
The 9/11 Honor Luncheon will be back at Ron's Pizza on its patio in Downtown Miamisburg. The event will be on Wednesday, September 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1 South Main St.
Fox Motors, with its co-sponsors, Ron's Pizza, Richard Denny Insurance and Gebhart Schmidt & Parramore host the event. This will be the first time this event will be held without Ron Holp, owner of Ron's Pizza, who died in November 2024.
Food will be provided to all military, fire and police to honor them for what they do on a daily basis.

Library Offers Variety of Events in Month of September
The Dayton Metro Library - Miamisburg Branch is hosting events suitable for individuals of all ages this summer.
During the month of September, the library is offering Adopt a Storytime Buddy on September 6 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Pizza with the Police on September 26 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and many other activities for infants and toddlers, preschoolers and teenagers.

ThunderCruise Rolls Back Into Town September 27
The annual ThunderCruise, car and bike meet up will be in Downtown Miamisburg on September 27.
This is a gathering for both cars and bikes along Main St. from 4 - 8 p.m., celebrating the thrilling conclusion of another fantastic season.

CPAM Presents: The SpongeBob Musical September 13 & 14
The Children’s Performing Arts of Miamisburg (CPAM) will present “The SpongeBob Musical” on September 13 and 14 at Riverfront Park. The performances will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday, September 14 at 2 p.m. The shows will be one hour and 30 minutes long, including a 20-minute intermission.

City Offices Closed to Observe Labor Day
The city of Miamisburg's offices will be closed today, September 1 to observe Labor Day.
Labor Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September in the United States, honoring the social and economic accomplishments of American workers and the labor movement.
Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by one-day due to the holiday. If your usual trash collection day is Monday, your trash will be picked up on Tuesday instead. For those whose trash is scheduled for collection on Tuesday, it will now be collected on Wednesday and this adjustment will carry on through the remainder of the week.
Essential services such as police and fire will remain operational. City offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, at 8 a.m.

Star City Booksellers is co-owned by Stephanie and Steve Johnson. Stephanie, a former educator at Miamisburg Middle School and her husband, Steve, is employed by the Miami Valley Fire District.
Star City Booksellers operates as an independent bookstore, serving those who not only enjoy immersing themselves in books but also seek to expand their understanding of the world around them. Their aspiration is to establish a venue for community members to convene, engage in discussions, and develop through a shared appreciation of literature in all its forms.
