Promising Solutions!

Family Promise Morris County, in partnership with local nonprofits, is excited to announce Promising Solutions, a new housing program for single women!

Eight homes in Morris County will become permanent housing to 32 single women whose income does not afford them the opportunity to maintain market rate rentals. The campus’s goal is to protect and enrich the physical, emotional, mental and developmental well-being of women through supportive, shared housing. A ninth home will be occupied by an on-site property manager.

We are grateful for a network of community providers who also support this project, including Homeless Solutions, Habitat for Humanity, Zufall Health Center, Atlantic Health System, Child & Family Resources, Community Hope, nourish.NJ, County College of Morris, Drew University Center for Civic Engagement, Interfaith Food Pantry, JBWS, Monarch Housing, EDGE, Mental Health Association of Essex & Morris, NewBridge Services, United Way, and the Housing Alliance of Morris County.

We are excited to be part of this Morris County village offering housing, safety, hope and a promising future to our female neighbors!

A New Home for Amy

We are so excited for Amy, a frequent Our Promise visitor, who recently moved into her new home. It has been decades since Amy has had a place she could call her own – a place where she feels safe. Amy has not been dealt an easy hand over the last few years, as she has struggled with depression, exacerbated by family challenges, employment loss, shelter stays, and ultimately losing her housing when her mother entered a nursing home. When her childhood house was sold, Amy had to vacate in less than two weeks.

Despite all that Amy has had to endure, she is quick to help others and is always wearing a smile. Those who have been to Our Promise have likely seen Amy and witnessed her good heart and kind words.

Congratulations and welcome home, Amy!
