HOW VALENTINE'S DAY IS BROUGHT TO YOU

BY AMERICAN BUSINESS

Valentine’s Day is much more than cards and sweets — it is a time for Americans to show the special people in their lives how much they mean to them, and it is brought to consumers by American businesses. The National Retail Federation (NRF) estimates that 53% of consumers plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and

$25.8 billion will be spent on the holiday this year, or about $185.81 per household.

It is estimated that the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD metro area spent $555,465,712 on things such as candy, flowers, greeting cards, dining out, and other purchases for the holiday. All this extra business activity adds up to increased spending at local businesses, healthy local economies, and a memorable holiday for consumers. Read more >
