Meet the New Voice of ATS:

Architecture, Learning, and the Workday

A Message From Jenn Furr:

For the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Marketing Director for ATS and, along the way, becoming the voice behind this monthly blog. Each month, I’ve had the opportunity to explore the topics shaping architecture and the built environment—from sustainability, embodied carbon, and building performance to new materials, technologies, design trends, and the ever-changing challenges facing architects and specifiers.

As I prepare to leave my role at ATS and begin my next chapter, it’s time to pass the baton.

I’m very happy to introduce Tyonna Robinson, ATS’s next marketing expert and the new voice behind the monthly ATS blog. Tyonna brings fresh ideas, creativity, and a new perspective to ATS, and I’m excited to see where she takes the blog from here.

While the writer may be changing, the purpose of the blog isn’t. ATS will continue to look beyond continuing education itself to explore the trends, challenges, technologies, and conversations influencing the architecture and building industries.

After seven years and many, many blog posts, I want to thank everyone who has read, shared, commented on, or simply spent a few minutes with something I’ve written. It has been a wonderful part of my time at ATS. (And, if you’re new to ATS and our blogs, click HERE.)

And now, Tyonna—the keyboard is yours.

With gratitude, Jenn Furr

Hi, I’m Ty!

Thanks, Jenn! I’m excited to be here.

I’ve loved architecture for as long as I can remember. When I was young, I remember looking through books and being fascinated by photos of the buildings and skylines of Hong Kong. I didn’t know much about architecture then, but I was amazed by the idea that someone could imagine something so impressive and figure out how to bring it to life.

Beyond the Blueprints

What has always intrigued me is the mind of an architect.

An idea begins as a sketch and becomes a building where people live, work, play, and gather. Now that I’m at ATS and learning more about the industry, I’m thinking about everything that happens between that first idea and the finished building.

I imagine your days can get pretty busy between projects, meetings, revisions, client needs, deadlines, and the unexpected things that inevitably pop up.

And somewhere in all of that, there’s continuing education.

Where does CE fit into an already busy workday?

Continuing education doesn’t have to feel like one more thing waiting at the bottom of your to-do list.

Planning CE into your schedule throughout the year can make it a natural part of professional development rather than something that becomes stressful when a deadline approaches. And ATS makes the process pretty seamless.

With live online and in-person seminars, webinars, and on-demand courses, you can choose topics and formats that work with your schedule and professional interests.

Plus, we report your credits directly to AIA, USGBC/CAGBC, or AIBC, and your certificates are automatically added to your ATS account, ready to download when you need them.

That means less time managing your CE and more time learning.

Architects, What Does Your Workday Look Like?

Share a little of your workday with us. Your perspective may even inspire the next chapter of our Day in the Life of an Architect series.

After all, we see the buildings. I’d love to hear more about the people and ideas that bring them to life.

Spanning approximately 24,000 square meters across seven levels, El Salvador’s National Library, BINAES, features a custom lighting installation of 201 Shakúff Crystal Shell pendants that cascades nearly 25 feet through the central atrium, visually connecting the building’s floors.
