The sun setting in 2020 is a time for reflection. It was a challenging and transformational year on many levels. The world was resilient, and we witnessed the best of human compassion and determination. It opened new terrain for some of us, teaching us to work differently, learning new skills, delving deeper into new projects. We crafted new legacies that will give more substance to our lives if we hold onto them.
The Spring of 2020 was unbelievably chaotic, but it was a salute to our roots. It was inspiring to see so many people building gardens, learning new techniques, and doing things they have always wanted to but never had the time. People were feeding themselves with the food they grew; better, they were donating their abundance to Food Pantries and sharing with their neighbors.
Taking these new abilities and building upon them is what makes us great. You have proven that in spades. We welcome 2021 with open arms and lasting hope; we can use these new talents and be rid of the things that held us back. Isn't that what the New Year signifies? Our gratitude for you is unmeasurable, and while we have been missing the opportunity to shake hands (or bump elbows) with many of you, we thank you for your patronage. Let's take what we learned and continue to build new ground and new gardens.
