Greetings!
Happy New Year! Over the past year, we have navigated growth, change, and continued commitment to our mission. Together, we have strengthened programs, deepened relationships, and laid the groundwork for what comes next. Once we move into our new facility it will be the result of sustained effort, generosity, and shared belief in our work.
There’s a quote from Ghandi that feels fitting: “The future is built by what we do today.” All of our work together is a reflection of that idea—of the care, vision, and intention that staff, volunteers, and supporters to Saranam.
We're excited for what’s ahead, and can’t wait to get rolling on all the things that 2026 will bring. We are thankful for the support we receive from you and our community. Let’s get started!

The families' holiday breaks were a time to unwind, visit with friends and neighbors, and enjoy the new toys from the holidays. School and classes are back in session and so are the routines!
If you'd like to get involved at Saranam in the new year, keep reading! There are big and small ways. You could sip & support at a local brewery, tell a friend about our organization, sign up to volunteer, donate an item from our wishlist and share this newsletter!

PIT Count and Saranam's Impact
In November, the 2025 Point-In-Time count report was released. This count is the annual process "of identifying and counting individuals and families experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness within a community on a single night in January".
According to the data, the persons in households with at least one child in transitional housing reports 90 individuals. At that time, Saranam housed 74 of those individuals which was before we were fully occupied at ADC Family Campus! Since 2015, Saranam has consistently served on average 10 new families every year. We are proud to be part of the solution to homelessness and poverty for families.

New! Two Application Seasons
Saranam will have two application seasons with our two campuses fully open. Applications will open in late February and late May. Families will then move-in May and August of 2026. Watch for details and deadlines to be posted on our website and socials.

Community Support during the Holidays
Saranam had amazing support from many in the Albuquerque community over holiday season. There are many people, groups, and partners to thank!

Start the New Year off Right!
As families start off the new year in the classroom and the home, we've added some requested items to our Walmart Wishlist.
- GED prep books
- Tools for gardening class
- Recipe binders for family nights
- Carts for westside families
- Dry erase/cork boards
- Humidifiers

The Decorator Numbers are IN!
Last November, volunteers prepared ten homes for the latest cohort at Saranam's ADC Family Campus. There were 137 volunteers for a total of 1,239 hours! These homes were decorated with care and shelves were stocked. The families appreciate the warm welcome, colorful decor, and so much more. They feel like they are walking into a home, their own home.

Donations Drop-off
We are currently accepting a limited number of items until our donation center is officially open. Our website is maintained with a list of what we can accept at this time.
Please ONLY drop off donations during posted hours. FTA Campus- Eastside (1028 Eubank Blvd. NE, Suite F): Monday-Thursday, 11:30-3:00pm.
Please do not leave items outside of our donation center or in our lobbies. Items must be accepted by a Saranam staff member.
If you would like to donate furniture, you can text Jennifer Clear, our Housing Coordinator, at (505) 362-6283 or via email at jclear@saranamabq.org to send photos, ask questions, and schedule a drop off at one of our temporary storage locations.

A Community of Volunteers
We can't say thank you enough to all the wonderful volunteers who are part of our Saranam community. Last year, we had over 1,300 volunteers totaling over 7,500 hours. You makes the houses homes, you are role models, you make the campuses welcoming, and so much more. Thank you for all your help, muscles, time, and energy!

2025 A Year of Growth
Our mission guides us each day— to empower families to end their homelessness and poverty through housing, education and supportive community. Last year, we welcomed over 40 new families. Saranam's parents worked hard to complete hundreds of hours of life skill classes, college classes, and certificate programs. And, our community includes alumni, volunteers, donors, and you!
