The Flexibility of USGN Spans Many Industries
Clayton Wigley, President & Founder of National Tax Resource Group (NTRG), located in Dallas, Texas, has been using USGN for over fifteen years. They are not a “traditional” user of USGN instead they’ve taken the flexibility of USGN and adapted it in a way that has allowed them to manage over 8,161 projects online. NTRG is a Property Tax Consulting service that represents commercial property owners and assists them with negotiating favorable taxable assessments on their portfolios. They combine the use of both local and national experts in the industry to create a platform for institutional investors who have multiple properties and in multiple states, have one central point of service.
“We maximize communication and our data storage with little effort, thanks to USGN.”
Q1. What information are you using USGN’s platform to track?
When we get a new client or new asset from a client, we enter the base data, location, size, assign classifications of the asset and corresponding values. We then enter jurisdictional data and critical dates all into the platform. We then have local and regional consultants review the data in the system, report their findings and collaborate on a strategy for the client. We enter a lot of data one time and sometimes as many as three different people, at different locations, and with different companies are all reviewing the data simultaneously.
Q2. What features or tools in the USGN platform are most valuable to NTRG?
It’s hard to point to one function as the most valuable, they’re all valuable and important to our success. I think we find the calendaring, the document repository and the sortability of the raw data critical because the platform really is our central hub of communication for so many people in a variety of locations. We can maximize communication, data storage and cross reference data with little effort with the use of USGN. It provides us the ability to share with clients simultaneously without scanning and sending data that then doesn’t get captured into the system.
Q3. What is the USGN Advantage for NTRG?
Fifteen years ago, being able to share documents and calendar items online was new and exciting, we’ve continued to work with and grow with USGN over the years to stay ahead of the competition. In 2017, we’re working on simplifying the access and making raw data more graphically intelligent and user friendly for the clients.
Q4. If someone called you as a reference for USGN and was interested in purchasing USGN, what would you tell them?
USGN is a great environment to work with and within. You get to know the employees, they’ve been there a long time. You aren’t dialing into a 1-800 number in some other country. You know what to expect, who to expect and it’s a huge advantage.
