January 2017
Once again, the Residents and Staff of Fredonia Place played host to the children of the Developmental Head Start Program.

A bus loaded with are children made their annual trek to visit with Residents and Staff alike and to celebrate the pending holidays with cheer.

The kids enjoyed  afternoon filled with Christmas songs, Holiday treats, stories, interaction with our Residents and finally, a trip to the Annual Mitten Tree, where children could pick out a pair of mittens and a scarf to stay warm!

Thank you to the numerous Family members, Residents and Staff that donated to the tree. The children and their families thank you too!
A tip of the hat once again to our Staff, Residents and Families for the many donations that were dropped off for our mass donation to the Salvation Army! This year we were able to fill our entire bus with donations.

Two families with specific needs were chosen by the Army to receive things like furniture, clothing and Christmas gifts for children in need.

Plus additional toys, clothes, food, including four turkeys were also taken to the Central Avenue location for distribution.

Special recognition goes out to Activities Director Shannon Matteson & her Assistant, Jessica (pictured here) for taking additional gifts, clothing and foods directly to the streets...literally finding people and families in the streets of the city and giving them help during the holidays.

Fredonia Place Residents and many of their family members were treated to our Annual New Year's Eve Dinner Celebration by our entire Culinary Team headed by Gina Berringer.

Prime Rib was carved by Chef Nick George along with several additional side dishes, wine, beverages and desserts.

On holiday weekend, we will usually serve our special meals on a Friday so that family can spend time off campus with Residents if they's like. On special holidays like New Year's Eve, our event is held during lunch time for the same reasons.

Hats off (Chef hats please) to the entire team for another job well done!

Congratulations to Resident, Paige Woodbury for her feature article in the Dunkirk Observer following her presentation on Britain's "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher.

Paige is a prominent member of the village's historic "Fredonia Shakespeare Club" which is celebrating their 131st year in the Village of Fredonia.

This year's topic was: "Women, Artists, Authors, Designers and Entrepreneurs."

Ms. Woodbury presented her paper as one of the featured events of the meeting before the club took their tea.

Residents and their Families may be unaware of the that Fredonia Place has its very own store located at our Reception Desk!

Many things like: Denture cleaner, toilet paper, tissues, toothpaste and so much more are available for your convenience.

We offer this store so that residents do not have to go out in the blustery weather and leave the comforts of their own home. You you would like a listing of what the store offers and the prices please stop at the front desk and we will have that for you

One day out of each month we set aside a day for our ladies to just sit back and enjoy each other's company while enjoying tea and sweet treats.

Please be sure to check your calendars so you don't miss out on this wonderful experience!

Thank you to the many Residents of Fredonia Place who helped decorate our trees in both the Assisted Living and Memory Care communities!

We love working with our Residents since we consider them our second families!
