January 2020
Happy New Year!
We are excited for 2020 and the new ways we can continue working together to support the children in our community that need it most.
The 2020 Census and why it matters to Wild Plum Center
Newborn babies and young children under five are often missed in the census. The 2020 Census helps determine which areas qualify for the critical resources that children and families depend on for the next 10 years—basically, an entire childhood! Examples of resources that could be impacted include food assistance, Head Start, childcare, housing support, public schools, early intervention services for children with special needs, children’s health insurance, and more. Knowing how many children there are and where they live is essential to getting those services and programs to them. That’s why it’s so important that every child be counted, even newborn babies.

Mark your calendars!
This year's signature Birds and Blooms Festival will take place 4/25/2020 from 11 a.m.- 2p.m. at 851 Meeker St. Longmont, CO 80501. This festival is a celebration of collaboration in our community and is open to the public and free admission. Just like last year we will have a bouncy house, face painting, egg hunts for all ages and arts & crafts. We will also have unique Mother's Day gifts featured in a Silent Auction as part of our Fundraising endeavors.

Service Spotlight
Want a fun way to support Wild Plum Center programs? Starting in January we are looking for individuals to host Birdhouse Painting Parties. It's a great reason to have your friends gather round and design some unique homes for feathered friends. The birdhouses you design will be sold at our Birds and Blooms Festival and all proceeds will be used for Wild Plum Center programs.

New Year, New Look
Meet the WILD PLUM
You may have noticed the plum in our logo, but we are excited to have it free standing and ready to make it's mark in 2020 and beyond. Native to Colorado, the wild plum tree represents growth, nourishment, and stability- core elements WPC offers to the families we serve.
All donations to Wild Plum Center are 100% tax-deductible to the full extent of the law AND may qualify for the Colorado Childcare Contribution Credit. For example: a donation of $1,000 gets the usual Federal tax deduction, PLUS you'll receive $500 back from the state at tax time.
