A New Year; Same Steadfast Mission
Dear Friends,
The New year is upon us along with new hopes and new strategies, but our mission remains steadfast:
to see New Mexico honor God as we protect and cherish life;
safeguard the family unit and become an environment in which it can thrive;
and boldly defend and preserve religious freedom.
The new year often brings with it resolutions to do better than we did the year before, try harder to accomplish goals, and challenge ourselves in new ways. Full transparency, I’ve never cared for New Year’s resolutions. If I truly want to make changes, I’m going to need my mind and heart focused on and prepared for the challenge. A change in date, isn’t going to do that.
Yes, it’s great to think of a fresh start, and often we need that motivation to start again. But if we do not engage our hearts and minds in the why, the what will slip through our fingers faster than we can say “Happy New Year!”
New Mexico needs a shift in minds and hearts. Our own faith community needs to re-engage in our why so that we may see the what come to fruition. What is the what? Positively effecting the hearts and minds of the citizens of our state so that cherishing life, safeguarding the family and defending religious freedom begins in the hearts of the people before it is haphazardly tossed around in legislation. Then we will achieve our why; honoring God in the land of enchantment.
NM FAM remains focused and steadfast in our mission to see New Mexico honor God. Our strategy for 2023 includes re-engaging faith communities, engaging new communities, fighting for the family in and out of the legislative session and building focus and preparation for a brighter future for New Mexico.
Happy New Year, and God Bless!
